EnviroDevelopment
AVID Property Group is absolutely committed to building communities that are environmentally responsible and sustainable. And to ensure we meet our targets and expectations, each project is assessed under the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) national EnviroDevelopment certification.

EnviroDevelopment certification
Created by peak property industry body, the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA), EnviroDevelopment is a scientifically based assessment system that independently reviews development projects and awards certification to those that achieve outstanding performance across four or more sustainability categories. AVID is exceptionally proud to be Australia’s first residential developer to achieve EnviroDevelopment accreditation across our entire portfolio of masterplanned communities.

We take responsibility
We understand that moving into a new community means more than simply beautiful surroundings. It’s also about peace-of mind, knowing that the home and the entire neighbourhood has been created with the wellbeing of future generations and the environment in mind. That’s why we strive to achieve a 6-Leaf EnviroDevelopment certification for every one of our communities. We work together with designers, planners and builders to deliver projects that, not only minimise the negative impact on the environment, but also foster sustainable communities that we can all be proud of.

A sustainable legacy
It’s an all-in approach. The daily actions of each of us – big and small – have an impact on the environment. This is why we encourage our residents to implement changes in their own lives to support each of the ‘6-Leaves’, through a list of practical steps on our website.
By choosing an EnviroDevelopment community, our residents are choosing to live a more sustainable life. It also provides them with reduced living costs and possible eligibility for government rebates and local council incentives for healthier homes.
Achieving 6-Leaf Accreditation
EnviroDevelopment accreditation, assesses six important criteria. Here’s what we’re doing:

We strive to protect and enhance existing native ecosystems, encourage natural systems, native biodiversity, and rehabilitate degraded sites wherever possible.

Across everything we do, we seek out ways to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission and meet EnviroDevelopment benchmarks. Not only does this help the environment, but also lower utility costs.

We carefully consider and encourage use of more local, recycled and re-used, low emission building materials to ensure our communities are brought to life with minimal environmental impact.

We implement measures throughout our communities to reduce reliance on potable water, including using waterwise plants in landscaping, and recycling wastewater for irrigation of parks, streetscapes and gardens.

Through thoughtful masterplan design and engaging community initiatives and programs, we create neighbourhoods that bring people together and we turn these neighbourhoods into thriving connected communities.
